Do you have a battle plan?

Do you have a battle plan? If not, I'm challenging you to get one.

This is a hard blog post to write. So many may not know the whole story and one day I'll share it. Today isn't that day, though.

A year ago I made a commitment to myself and God to lean in to Him and go to war with the enemy. I knew it would be hard. Holy Spirit told me it would be hard. And, I, the girl who hates to be uncomfortable and is scared of everything, said, "ABSOLUTELY. Bring it on!"

It was then that I knew that God called me to be a cycle breaker.

Some of the words I heard the Lord say to me were:

Get ready. Slow down so you can pay attention. Circle the wagon and protect what you can.

In war, you must prepare ahead of time. You must have a plan, right? Today I want to encourage you to create a plan for the battle and also share some of my plan that has helped me this year as I have pressed on.

1. Find bible verses to encourage you and memorize them if possible. If you can't memorize them, write them everywhere so you will see them. Not only is scripture encouraging, it is a living word that will give you instruction for today and the season you are in. It's also a powerful weapon that can be used against darkness.

2. Create a worship battle playlist. I have a playlist titled, 'When Trouble Comes...'  I listen to it on repeat when the heaviness gets to be too much and it reminds me that God is bigger and He can do it.

3. Connect with a local body of believers. Seriously, go to church. While I'd love for you to find local believers in your church that can lift you up and you can be vulnerable with, it isn't always easy to find those people. But, the church is a great place to serve broken people. If you can't find those people, be one of those people.

4. Find your 'holy' ride or dies. You need at least one person who will speak life and pray for you when you aren't strong enough to do it on your own. This should be someone who you can be completely transparent without holding anything back who is willing to hurt your feelings, set boundaries, and hold you accountable when necessary but do it with love, sincerity, and wisdom that only God can give her.

5. Protect your peace. In this season, it is so important to be super intentional in all you do. Slow down. Take care of yourself. Give yourself grace. Set boundaries.

6. Circle the wagon. Get things in order. Relationships. Finances. Health. Look for anything the enemy could use against you and work on repairing/protecting it. (I talk about this a lot and am willing to give you a free 15 minute call to discuss what this means.)

7. Be intentionally still and present with God. This can look like reading your bible, journaling, prayer time, etc. It's an opportunity for God to speak with you but also for you to connect and speak also.

Lastly, I want you to remember this is a journey. You are doing big things but you aren't doing them alone. God is doing them through you. You don't have to have all the answers and be super strong. Some days are going to be harder than others. Give yourself grace. He will guide you, you only have to be willing. Purpose will come from the pain and when you are on the other side of it, it will feel SO good.
