Ten reasons to give up the clutter.

Ten reasons why we need to get rid of the clutter!

1. We will FEEL better. When you walk into a space in your home (or someone else's) that is tidy and free of clutter, how does it make you feel?  Do you feel like you can breathe again? Do you hear the angels singing? (I don't actually hear angels singing but it makes me super happy, peaceful, and FREE when I purge the clutter.)

2. Saves time. Do you know how many hours a year we waste looking for things? A lot!

3. Saves money. Have you ever had to spend money to buy another of something because you couldn't locate the other three you know you own? When you have less, you will be able to manage what you have and can give it a proper home. A proper home means you will know where to find it when you need it.

4. Helps us be more proactive versus reactive. The stress level we experience when our homes are not in order or are cluttered is more than we need in 2022. There is plenty of stress without it so let's eliminate what we can control. We can control clutter.

5. Eliminates decision fatigue. If you purge the closet full of the clothes you never wear, it will be much easier to get dressed. Less fatigue means you will have more energy for the important decisions that you have been putting off.

6. Allows you to appreciate what you do have. If you have a house full of clutter, nobody is going to notice the things you are actually proud of or enjoy. Example: Kids toys. If your kids have entirely too many toys, they probably aren't playing with any of them. Remove some and they will see their favorites and enjoy them.

7. Easier to keep your house clean. (Can I get an AMEN?) Less clutter equals less piles and stacks of stuff. Most of the stuff that we have in piles is there because we haven't found it a home. If it doesn't have a home, assign it a home or purge it.

8. You won't cringe when someone comes to the door. One area I have been convicted on a lot lately is my lack of hospitality. It's not that I don't want to invite people over and enjoy their company. Decluttering is helping me keep things in order so I can be more obedient when I hear God say 'invite them over.'

9. Better for your health and allergies. Anxiety is a huge culprit of clutter. But, also, if you have allergies, removing the clutter means less things to dust. (And, if you dust as often as I do, this is really important! 😂)

10. Your house will feel bigger. Less stuff+more space. So many times when we start looking around at the clutter, we think we need a bigger house. Most likely, you don't. You just need to clear the clutter to find free space again.

And, one more because this is important. Did you know clutter is the work of the enemy and distracts us from living out our purpose? The enemy will use anything possible to keep us distracted. Don't let him. Join us inside the Real Talk Tribe community and let's work together to intentionally purge the mess and find more freedom in our homes.
