For all of you struggling in the middle. I know it can be overwhelming but there is a purpose. God created you with a mindset to see both perspectives. The following is a journal entry from my prayer journal that I believe will encourage you. XO Melissa
Since Monday night I have not been able to sleep. I’m having weird dreams and keep hearing, “IN THE MIDDLE” in my head. Today I woke up and realized it’s probably you, Holy Spirit. (DUH!)
This is what I’m sense God saying:
For all of you struggling in the middle. I know it can be overwhelming but there is a purpose. I created you with a mindset to see both perspectives.
Today the world is super polarized. The Bible speaks about being lukewarm and how it’s definitely a negative thing. Don’t confuse being in the middle with that. Understanding both sides doesn’t automatically make you a lukewarm Christian.
I have a purpose for you in the middle. I’ve created you for a season like this. Stop looking inward & letting it overwhelm you. Start seeing it with spiritual eyes so you can see MY purpose in it.
There are many perks to being in the middle.
You can talk to both sides.
You can easily love both sides.
God can use you as a mediator.
Mediating and things to be weary of:
You alone can’t do this. You need me. Rest in me. Trust me. Do not go ahead or think this is an easy & simple job. You will become overwhelmed, distracted, burned out, and it will literally make you crazy.
In tug of war, the back & forth makes you dizzy if you are watching the flag in the middle of the rope. Keep your eyes on me. Walk out only what I tell you to.
Listen before you speak. Speak to me ALWAYS before them.
Intercede.
You have the opportunity to be a world changer. Don’t underestimate your gift.
People on either side may become annoyed. They may hate you. The enemy will use them to distract you. Expect the resistance. Prepare for the resistance. Lean into me for protection.
Let me go before you. I will do the work. You only have to do YOUR part.
Pay attention to the sin cycle. Do your best to remember me & steer clear of sin. Abide in me.
Matthew Ch 11 vs 5-6-Bible Gateway
Jesus replied, “Go back and report to John what you hear and see: 5 The blind receive sight, the lame walk, those who have leprosy[b] are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the good news is proclaimed to the poor. 6 Blessed is anyone who does not stumble on account of me.”
Matthew Ch 11 vs 28-30 Bible Gateway
28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
Attributes of those called to speak out from the middle:
Signs you are in the middle:
You see both sides & believe the truth is in the middle.
You recognize people don’t know what they don’t know and can give grace easily.
Important Call Out:
Before you start walking it out intentionally and recognizing it as a gift & calling, you may be easily overwhelmed by social media and life. When you are living a life of overwhelm, you can fall down many rabbit holes and become trapped.
Beware of what you use to escape. Even if it looks pretty and harmless, it can distract you.
Things to do when you recognize you are called to the middle.
